Australian Football Heritage - Branding & Identity
In 2019, then Director of the Board of Football Federation Australian founded the Australian Football Heritage Committee stating:
“In the past, we have relied on passionate individuals to document our history, to collect memorabilia, to showcase our history and it’s now time to bring all of this together in a co-ordinated way for the entire community to enjoy.”
The Committee included prominent faces of football and media as well as passionate academic historians. We were engaged to create the brand and identity of the Committee, including logo design, brand collateral, social creative and website design.
When designing the brand for the Australian Football Heritage Committee, we wanted the logo itself to communicate a story about football. The logo itself references the football centre line with a visual Allison to progression, articulated through the animation below:
“Past. Present. Future.”

Symbol Concepts
When designing the branding for the Committee, we began with an exploration of the geometric symbols that make up football’s centre line. We discovered symbolic references to many of the values the Australian Football Heritage Committee aspired to communicate and achieve in their mission.
Font Selection
We also opted for a bold but classic font that had a historic feel and could be used into the future, while firmly grounding them as contemporary and forward-looking.
The website design and social identity which is under development includes an interactive timeline with an intimate look into the moments that make Australian football history.
